QUINTERO LNG UNLOADING JETTY

GNL Quintero S.A. entered into an EPC contract for the design and construction of a new LNG terminal in Quintero Bay in the Valparaiso region in Chile. PRDW’s involvement included the design of the jetty for LNG vessels up to 265 000m3.

The project included:

  • 1,700 m long access trestle
  • Platform with unloading arms and topside
  • Mooring dolphins
  • Berthing dolphins
  • Gangway
  • Walkways
  • Sea water intake and discharge

The engineering input from PRDW included the following:

  • Structural design
  • Hydrodynamic loads
  • Study of wave climate and extreme waves
  • Downtime study and moored ship dynamics modelling
  • Study of tsunami risk and modelling
  • Special seismic analysis
