ARICA PORT BERTH 4 DESIGN

Terminal Puerto Arica S A appointed PRDW to conduct the conceptual, preliminary and detail design for a new container and general cargo quay in the port of Arica, Chile. The project required the design of all land and marine works including land based facilities, field studies, etc.

The project required the design of a new berth to increase container handling at the port. Several alternatives were analysed, either at existing sites or for new berth structures, resulting in the development and construction of a new finger pier.

PRDW’s scope was to conduct the conceptual, preliminary and detail design of the pier, including a seismic analysis of the pier.

Other work carried out by PRDW included:

  • Dredging
  • Concrete paving blocks
  • Vibrocompaction reclamation
  • Lighting and Electricity
  • Cathodic Protection

In addition to the above following studies were carried out:

  • Environmental Impact Study
  • Wave penetration study
