GNL Quintero S.A. entered into an EPC contract for the design and construction of a new LNG terminal in Quintero Bay in the Valparaiso region in Chile. PRDW’s involvement included the design of the jetty for LNG vessels up to 265 000m3.
The project included:
- 1,700 m long access trestle
- Platform with unloading arms and topside
- Mooring dolphins
- Berthing dolphins
- Gangway
- Walkways
- Sea water intake and discharge
The engineering input from PRDW included the following:
- Structural design
- Hydrodynamic loads
- Study of wave climate and extreme waves
- Downtime study and moored ship dynamics modelling
- Study of tsunami risk and modelling
- Special seismic analysis
