The Coega Development Corporation (Pty) Ltd (CDC) being the implementing agent for the National Department of Public Works, has appointed PRDW for the repair and upgrade of marine infrastructure (e.g. slipways, quays, Jetties, cranes, removal of sunken vessels and dredging) in the Western Cape Fishing Harbours including Saldanha Bay, Pepper Bay, Hout Bay, Kalk Bay, Gordons Bay and Hermanus. The services extend from concept design through to detail design, procurement documentation and construction supervision.
The scope of the works comprise the following activities:
- Technical and condition assessment inspections and reporting on all marine infrastructure
- Identify and scope infrastructure repair and upgrade requirements
- Concept designs and project implementation plans
- Environmental requirements and authorisations for dredging and refurbishment work
- Specify and monitor site investigations
- Preliminary and detail designs and specifications
- Procurement documentation
- Works information
- Cost estimates
- Assist with the Contractor procurement process
- Contract management, supervision and commissioning during construction phase
- Overall project co-ordination and management
- Financial control, quality control, co-ordination, monitoring and reporting services
- Close-out process and report
