MARINAS AND WATERFRONTS
PRDW has designed the marine aspects of many marinas and waterfronts for leisure and commercial purposes including the iconic V&A Waterfront in Cape Town.
Blue Dolphin: Bulks terminal
Unloading terminal for oil, coal, biomass, limestone and petcoke for Mejillones and Andino power plants. The project entailed the detail engineering of marine and landside infrastructure.
Puerto San Antonio: Costanera terminal
Inland, offshore and land reclamation works for a new container terminal for the new “Costanera” port sites in San Antonio. The project comprises the design of a 700 m long pier, as well as modifications to the existing breakwater and to the existing sites 4 and 5.
St Helena Island: Rupert’s Bay permanent wharf
Wharf for handling cargo, complete with breakwater protection, passenger landing facilities, and slipway for rescue craft.
Koeberg Nuclear Power Station: Cooling water intake basin
Site data collection, feasibility studies, licensing reports, in addition to the detailed design of the breakwaters, pump house structures and the cooling water outfall.
LNG Mejillones: Unloading jetty
Maritime civil works for two berths for LNG ships, one for a permanent FSRU in its first phase and the other for unloading LNG.
Port of Salaverry: Implementation of Shoretension® system
Study to analyze and quantify the benefits of installing ShoreTension®
devices
TGN: Mejillones bulk terminal
Unloading terminal (mainly coal) for attention ships Panamax of 80,000 DWT, and with a capacity of 6MTPA. The terminal consists of a jetty and a mechanized system.
Seychelles: Eden Island marina development
Coastal engineering for the development of Eden Island in the Seychelles.
PIEM Red Dragon: Sea water intake and outfall for cooling system
Detailed engineering of the Cooling Water Intake and Cooling Water Outfall systems for the new thermal power generation Units (6 & 7) as part of the expansion of Mejillones Power Plant. Each unit is designed to generate a gross electrical output of 375MW.
