Inside the project

Pluspetrol Camisea: LPG offshore terminal

New marine facility for the shipment of gas and liquid products, located app. 3 km from the coastline.

PRDW was responsible from the Preliminary Project for the tender (type EPC) to the Detail Engineering of all maritime civil works of the marine terminal.

The project began with the definition of a preliminary project to be submitted to an international EPC tender. Once awarded, basic and detailed engineering was performed. PRDW was appointed by BELFI (marine contractor) for all these phases of the marine works.

The project included the design of a loading platform, 4 breasting dolphins, 4 mooring dolphins, LPG loading arms support structures, incinerator strain, gangway and catwalks, others. These offshore platform is located app. 3 km from the coastline.

Engineering developed by PRDW included the following:

  • Local wave analysis for design and operational evaluations.
  • Numerical modelling for dynamic mooring evaluation of ships at berth.
  • Review of navigation and manoeuvrability.
  • Seismic behaviour analysis.
  • Nonlinear analysis of structures.
  • Seismic inspection of main equipment.
  • Detail design documentation: construction drawings, calculation reports, technical
    specifications, others.
  • Construction assessment and support.

In addition, studies on soil mechanics and oceanographic measurements were coordinated.

This marine terminal is located 40 km from the epicentre of the
magnitude 8.0 earthquake occurred on August 15, 2007. The structure and facilities supported without any damage the earthquake.
