The project consisted in the design of a bulks unloading terminal (mainly coal) for attention ships Panamax of 80,000 DWT, and with a capacity of 6MTPA. The terminal consists of a jetty and a mechanized system, and PRDW was responsible for the conceptual, basic and details engineering of all the maritime and land works.
The maritime area considers a 140 m long unloading platform with 15 m wide, for two fixed unloading cranes (plus a future one) with a capacity of 900 TPH each, three mooring dolphins, 1 breasting dolphin, a buoy and an access trestle of 496 m long.
The mechanized system has a capacity of 2,250 TPH and consists of three bulk hoppers (mainly coal) and a system of two tubular belts of 800 and 520 m in length, to a delivery point, with its corresponding transfer tower, system dust mitigation, etc.
The engineering developed by PRDW included:
- Definition of layout.
- Study of the design wave conditions, wave penetration and the numerical modelling of ship at berth dynamics.
- Operational downtime study.
- Materials handling project.
- Projects of maritime structures.
- Project of land structures.
- Electricity and instrumentation project.
- Fire network design .
- Architecture of office buildings, clothing house, dining rooms, others.
- Drinking water, sewage, and other facilities.
- Manoeuvring study.
PRDW supervised, checked and coordinated the studies of manoeuvrability, soils mechanics and oceanographic field measurements,
